Wow,
So far so good with this SVN. I had issues with framerate. I was able to select 24p at last but it would not stay set whenever I rebooted. This version however does stay set to 1920 x 1080 at framerate 24p. Now I get no Jitter, just smooth playback
I was wondering if anyone knows how I can use the Aeon65 skin with this version of XBMC live? I have been pulling my hair out trying to get the skin working but nothing seems to work for me. I have tried installing Aeon65 using the GIT and have succesfully created an skin.Aeon65 folder inside a Addons folder which is inside the .xbmc folder but I cannot see it in the ‘appearance’ skin selection menu in XBMClive.
Has anyone been able to get any version of Aeon or maybe even Alaska working with recent SVN’s of XBMC live?
Any help wpuld be appreciated.
Thanks for the great work.
Video Playback now is very smooth.
But i cannot get sound with Zotac Ion board.
If i boot XBMC from Live CD, i can exit and get into a console.
But if i install on harddisk, i only get a blank screen and no prompt.
How can i add SVN Repo Installer or get Firefox working ?
How can i start alsamixer for sound adjustment ?
Greetings at all.
@Dalsim
Download skin for this page:
http://sshcs.com/xbmc/?mode=Addons&ST=3
Unrar and put in your addons folder, worked for me.
Where do I selected this 24p setting? I too have some jitter issues…
@Dalsim
@Rene
To get 24p (24hz screen refresh rate) you need to go to System -> System Settings -> Video Output. There you will see you can change the refresh rates and resolution. Mine was default 60hz but when you select the up or down selectors you can change it to 60, 50, 25 or 24hz. I think you have to have the screen resolution at 1920×1080 to get this refresh rate option and you will have to make sure your T.V. can output 1920 x 1080, 24p resolution via HDMI.
I hope this helps.
@Dalsim
Ah, that’s right.. Great thanks. I’ll try this later today.
I also have a Zotac Ion board and have no sound too…
is there a solution for that?
Nice work! Anyone tried it on Acer Revo yet?
CooK
noobie question, sorry. I previously installed 9-11 V14, so how do I update without complete reinstall?
This is great, but there’s still a lot of scripts I like that haven’t been updated to add-ons yet.
Is there an *easy* way to add a script that’s not yet an add-on to the menu structure?
@TheCooK
Yes, I am running this latest version of XBMC live on my Acer Revo r3610 with no problems. Installed the ISO with unetbootin onto a 2gb SD card which I plug into the card reader on the Revo and it automatically boots from that (I tried a 4gb SDHC card but it won’t boot from it
. I then just reboot and eject the SD card when I want to use Windows. Perfect!
Does anyone know if there is a GIT repository for the XBMCfreak Live versions so I can update to current builds using Ubuntu, without having to clean reinstall every time?
ha
ik kom op mijn Zotac box niet voorbij Harde schijfcontrole tijdens install. Ik heb een ssd zein wzitten: Zou het daar aan liggen of aan de zotac? De vorige Livecd deed het zonder problemen….
Did you manage to get librtmp compiled into this version ?
either way… nice one… for the time and effort you’re putting in
Also using a Zotac ION board and getting no sound using analog output with 2.0 speakers (don’t have the equipment to test digital outputs). In videos with multiple channel output I can hear the rear channels, but not the front. Connecting speakers to different outputs yields no sound at all.
Has anyone managed to install working lirc remote with new kernel .24 ?
Thanks for info
@urosk
for Asrock ion
Still no sound.
Am I the only one who have this problem that the webinterface doesn’t start with XBMC? I always have to restart it over the menu :/
@urosk
ASRock ION 330/remote control RC6_esky ( http://esky.cc/en/ProductView.asp?ID=141&SortID=160). Adjusted lircmap, it works with lircmap.xml , as Linux input layer –>> /dev/lirc0
Is there somebody who’s got the 5.1 analog sound working yet on a zotac ion 330 bord?
it will only work for me on the official 9-11 version from xbmc.org when i use 2 channel sound and put the function downmix multi channel sound to stereo on when watching a dvd…
On the two recent versions from xbmcfreak i have no sound at all…
I will update the my bios and try to update the zotac ion drivers but am a linux noob
groetjes dicky
BBC iPlayer v2.1 doesn’t seem to work still in this otherwise cool release
(yes am in UK)

Hi, is there any chance that RTMP will make it into the next release so that iplayer plugin will work? Thanks very much.
Next release I’ll include the binaries from http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/
Don’t know if that’s enough to make it work. RTMP still has to be put in XBMC (compiled within), so file a request for that.
Hi i just installed this version on my pc…..but i cant seem to mount my internal hard drvies where i store all my media. In other versions i would edit the menu.lst…but this version doesnt seem to have it….how would i automount my harddrives????
Good release. XBMC work like a charm except for two little problems :
Duration display of the movies is wrong : after a scan (I use nfo files for all my movies) in the infomedia screen, xbmc shows 1 minutes, 2 minutes or 1652594 minutes… Sometimes the info is correct. I checked all my nfo, they are all good ?!?
I can’t exit from xbmc to go to the console mode. So I can’t add my advancedsettings.xml file
Thanks for the job
@Franckla
use Ember Media Manager and update the Meta Data only
Can you install this to an external USB harddrive and boot from that ? Might be great as a test version until i commit to install fully.
RTMP support is something i am really looking forward to as a lot of the latest plugins require it. Looking forward to that.
Heeft iemand een alternatieve downloadlink? deze duurt met 30kb/s nog 3 uur. Piethein, keep up the good work!
read how i have done it here:
http://forum.xbmcfreak.nl/topic/install-latest-xbmcfreak-live-cd-to-sd-card
Excellent job!. Seems to work perfectly on a Zbox id-11. Upnp working as well. That might be because this is an i686 version.
Will there be or is there a x86_64 version as well?
Thanks!
@snuggere
@ snuggere
did you install the freakcd or just use it as a liveCD??
@m3g4tr0n
Thanks for the tips. It works now. The last release of XBMC use the xml tag “Duration” which is in the metadata part of the file. The old release used the xml tag “runtime” instead. Duration tag must be written like runtime time (XXX minutes) for the last release. When you use Media Companion instead of Ember Media Manager, the duration tag use this syntax : Xh YYmin ZZsec and not the goog one…
(Sorry for my bad english…)
@miesjel
Just the LiveCD so far…
@snuggere
thanks for the reply, i would be interested in the results of an install, should you ever decide to do so… My Zotac wont accept an install (still not sure wether it is caused by Zotac Zbox, freakcd or SSD)
@sonik
Well at the moment I am not so sure if I ever will try. I am using a NP1100 Philips uPNP client and although it does ‘see’ the XBMC box it refuses to connect saying it is ‘locked’ or read-only. MediaTomb installed alongside does work perfectly. So it might be a glitch in the NP1100 or something else but I do not get it to work with XBMC
@snuggere
okay, thanx for the repley. I Dont know jack about network and related issues so can’t be of any help.
The fact that XBMC is read-only seems to make sense since it is a CD…maybe if you tried it with a flash-stick, made persistence (via Unetbootin) ???
Has somebody managed to install Asrock remote on ION with .24 kernel?
@Dalsim
I had the same problem using the git for aeon65 skin. When you download the git repository it nests the files one level too deep and xbmc doesn’t recognize the skin ie: /.xbmc/addons/skin.aeon/aeon . If you move all the files from the …./aeon directory up one level you should be in business ie: /.xbmc/addons/skin.aeon
My ASUS AT3N7A-I refuses to get an IP address. I can confirm the eht0 interface is enabled and I see the mac address for the adapter.
Works well upto the v14 CD..
Appreciate any assistance i can get to upgrade to the new release..
thanks
I still cant get .dts/wav files to playt anything but white noise, this is driving me mad! (asrock 330ht)
When connecting my keyboard via USB, my Zotac Zbox gets stuck. So back to 9.11 unfortunately…
how to make a XBMCFreak 9.11 v.13
–disable-codec = mpeg4_vdpau ?
