  1. Norms360 says:

Is it possible to upgrade XBMCBuntu to Freak ? Or does it need a fresh install ?

  2. Rob says:

Heb problemen om met mijn ION330 de spdif aan de praat te krijgen. Hopelijk lukt het met deze versie wel! Heb goede ervaringen met de v.10 van XBMC Freak, dus bedankt!

  3. Robert says:

Jaszy, I had the same problem. Deleting ~/.asoundrc and reconfiguring sound in XBMC fixed it.

  4. Menno says:

    It’s really a good release…

But i can’t start the webserver and so i cant config sabNZB
    anyone have a suggestion?..
    I have activated the webserver!

  5. Menno says:

    Sorry found it…
Awesome release! thanxs, only my favorite script (navi-x and XOT) crashes

  6. tiep says:

    tiep,

Okay, so I managed to fix this using information supplied here : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=127813&page=2

Basically, I ran lsusb to get the ID of my IR transceiver (in my case 0008) and used this to grep /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/idProduct. which returned:

    /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/idProduct:0008

I then edited /etc/rc.local and added the following lines:

    echo USB0 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    echo USB1 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    echo USB2 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    sleep 20
    echo enabled > /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/power/wakeup

Finally I edited /etc/default/grub and set the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line to:

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash usbcore.autosuspend=-1 acpi_enforce_resources=lax”

    and ran sudo update-grub.

I can now wake up my suspended system using the MCE remote.

  7. Keen says:

    Menno,

did you realy use version 5? because i only had this issue (Navi-X crashing) on Version 3.

  8. Menno says:

Hellow, i used the latest version 3.7.5.
    Its on there website..
    Is there another version?

    Greetz

  9. Jasper says:

    Hi,

I just downloaded this xbmcfreak version and used unetbootin to put in on a USB stick.

When I select install it loads XBMC but after restart WITHOUT usb stick it doesn’t boot to XBMC.

It seems the installer doesn’t work on this version :(

Using AD10 Zotac system with SATA disk.

  10. Jeroen says:

Just installed it but the samba shares upload does not get higher then 500kb and is very irregular

  11. Jeroen says:

    Jeroen,

ps, I’m using a wired connection, with openelec on the machine the transfer speed is just fine

  12. Jeroen says:

fixed the wired lan speed with: use (sendfile = yes) in smb.conf but why does (netbios name = xtreamer) not work. It remains with the compute name (xbmcbuntu) even dough i set the computer name at installation to xtreamer. please help

  13. Keen says:

    Menno,

    Menno:
Hellow, i used the latest version 3.7.5.
    Its on there website..
    Is there another version?

What i meant was the XBMCFreak Version. If you there have an older one or the latest Version 5

    26 April 2012, xbmcfreak version 5:

    sickbeard configuration fixes
    sabnzbd configuration fixes
disabled network configuration errors at boottime
fix for xsession errors, canberra-gtk-module related

  14. Paco says:

How do I create the install USB stick? tried with unetbootin-windows-575 and in two different computers happens exactly the same: I select to install XBMCbuntu but it does not install, it just runs from the USB stick. It gives no error nor anything.

In one of that computers, I installed openelec without any difficulties, so it seems to be a problem with the USB creation. It happens exactly the same with Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.9.7.

  15. tiep says:

    tiep: tiep

OK I managed to fix this as follows:
Found the ID of my IR transceiver by running lsusb

    In my case this was:

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1784:0008 TopSeed Technology Corp. eHome Infrared Transceiver

I then did a grep as follows

    grep 0008 /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/idProduct

    Which produced:

    /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/idProduct:0008

Using this info I edited /etc/rc.local and added the following lines:

    echo USB0 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    echo USB1 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    echo USB2 > /proc/acpi/wakeup
    sleep 20
    echo enabled > /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/power/wakeup

I also modified the grub setup by editing /etc/default/grub and set the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line to:

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash usbcore.autosuspend=-1 acpi_enforce_resources=lax”
    Finally I ran a sudo update-grub

I can now suspend and wake my Revo with the MCE remote

  16. bart4444 says:

op wat voor poortnummer zit sickbeard

  17. joeks says:

    bart4444,

Yep wil ik ook graag weten. Evenals poortnummers van o.a. Sabnzb en Transmission

  18. joris kempen says:

anyone has an idea how access the console of this version, or access it using SSH?

no root password is set, only a user is created.

    user: xbmc
    password: xbmc
    not working

    user: ownusername
    password: ownpassword

    not working????

  19. retoix says:

Can i just make a “apt-get update” and “apt-get upgrade” on my Freak Version v1? Would be the same as Freak Version v5?

  20. Gerard says:

    Keen,

What did you do t get sabnzbd working?

  21. If I don’t use some of the included features in V5, can I just uninstall them?
    Sickbeard support
    Sabnzbd support
    Transmission support
    tvheadend

Is there any scripts to remove etc?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  22. Brian says:

    * Transmission Web GUI
    * SABNZBd Web GUI
    * and Sickbeard
