Hi Asrock remmote works perfectly, booting from USB stick. Thank you very much.
hey cool, thx I will try this out.
is it with the new kernel (kernel 2.6.37-12.26)?
ah Lucid base, ok sry for the stupid question
This version works great voor the Asrock 330HT. Installed it and it just worked out of the box. Even wake up from suspend works fine. Finaly after 1 year of struggling with my Asrock 330HT it works!
Works very well. Its probably the best version I have used on my Asrock 330HT. The remote works straight away. Playback is smooth. The menu clicks work all the time. But I have this 1 problem that is stopping me from being super happy. I have a 5.1 speaker system setup directly to the analog ports on the box and when I play a 5.1 DTS mkv file. I can hear a strange sound from the center speaker. Almost like the audio quality has been decreased on just the center speaker. Any help?? It plays other things like music and standard 700mb xvid videos fine through all speakers. help??? thanks
Hello .. I have the same Problem with this Version than the Last: Seems that the Video-Output via HDMI does not work. I’m using an ASROCK 330HT and an LG Full-HD Display connected vid HDMI .. any Ideas ?? The old 9.11 Version works fine out of the Box..
.. and Thanx for supporting the XBMC and making it easier fur us/me =)
Works great on ION330. Thank you!
@Jaszy
Hallo
Are you connecting it to a HDMI Display .. each time the X-Server starts, the Image dissapears with me .. any Ideas ??
Volker
Volker – about the HDMI sound problem look at the comments in ‘Xbmcfreak LiveCD 10.00 maverick v3′, someone publishes the solution for the ASROCK 330HT.
This is what was said in that tread by BiTRiP:
Finally I got audio fully working over HDMI on my Asus 330HT by doing this:
Create the file ‘asound.conf’ in /etc with the following details:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 3
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
}
Then set audiosetting like below:
Audio output: HDMI
Speaker Configuration: 2.0
Boost volume level on Downmix: ON
AC3: ON or OFF
DTS: ON or OFF
Audio Capable Device: HDMI
Custom Audio Device: blank
Passthrough output device: HDMI
Custom Passthrough Device: blank
Allthough I had everything UNMUTED and 100% in audiomixer, I still had to turn up volume by the remote to finally hear sound. Everything works now.
BiTRiP
FYI, BiTRiP meant to say ‘ASROCK 330HT’ and not ‘Asus 330HT’ in the above post
@AJ1000
Hello thanx for the Reply .. the Problem is that it’s not a Sound Problen .. seems to be an X-Server Proplem .. after showing the XBMC-Logo, the Screen goes blank ..
@Volker Graf
Yes, I use HDMI (1920x1080x60Hz), but the screen/image OK.
I have no ideas. Sorry!
@Jaszy
*sigh* something seems go go wrong =( .. works with my Samsung LDC-Panel via HDMI->DVI Adapter .. but running it on the Native HDMI-Panel blanks out when the X-server starts *sigh* …
Is anyone else having problems with xbmc immediately auto resuming from standby when the power off button is pressed? Running this version on an Asrock 330HT. Cheers.
Thanks o lot for your effort.
Remote works fine!
What I saw: CPU usage is at 25 – 40 % in idle mode whereas the Xbmcfreak LiveCD 10.00 maverick v3 just has about 5% usage. I’m using 330HT-BD!
Is this a know effect or just on my asrock?
Thanks again for all you for us!
Thanks for the effort! The remote and sound work great out of the box (tested on Asrock ION 330).
However, after installing the live version, I am unable to change the hostname.
I read elsewhere on this forum that a XBMCFreak config file is being developed, which should fix this issue. Is there any news on that?
How the hell can i get audio to work over optical? I only have sound while playing movies but not when playing MP3 files… I have an Asrock 330HT anyone familiar?
I can’t get optical SPDIF sound at all to work. In alsamixer the SPDIF is unmuted, but show no volume bar. HDMI sound work out of the box.
@Fjerpje
I had this issue once before after doing a fresh install. The only problem turned out to be that the volume on my ASRock was turned all the way down, so it just seemed that mp3 audio wasn’t working. My movies were working fine because they are all in 5.1 and just being passsed through to my receiver which does all the decoding.
How do you control volume on the ASRock?
I read a lot about the current XBMC status, tested in on Windows, and this website convinced me to replace my good old xbox with something new. Today I received the Asrock Ion 3D 152B. Currently installing Windows 7 64 bit while downloading the latest xbmcfreak nuvoton cd. I read blue-ray isn’t working on Linux yet, so I will go for a dualboot setup. I will post my experiences soon.
i recently installed xbmcfreak (this build) on my system, i get to set standrard user acc but i dont get to set root pw, anyone want to let me in on the secret?
ive tryd xbmc/xbmcfreak/root/password etc… Zzzzz
addition to the above post, if i write sudo passwd root in console via winscp i get “no tty present and no askpass program specified”
ok got it running now, downloaded the standalone putty client and used that.. worked alot better
Try routing sound to your TV. Does both work then?
I also just got the ION3D 152B, please share.
Was also after another download link e.g. a torrent, can’t get more than 7.2 KB/sec from here (with my 10Mb connection).
More on the Ion 3D install: First run from external usb went flawlessy. After reboot installed next to Windows 7. I choose for a 25 GB partition for both, and the rest for other media data. I can now choose between Windows en XBMC when starting up. Finding a way to add data from the media partition ended in various forums with various approach which expected me to be a linux expert. Finally found one which proposed to edit the boot line and excluding a parameter. This however applies to the current startup only. I suppose there is a more user-frienly way to realize this?
Other feedback: Remote works okay, suspend does nothing (black flash and back to xbmc), exit results in black screen with no return option. Tried several media files and all seen to play perfect.
DANK!!
I am running XBMCFreak LiveCD 10.00 RC1 Nuvoton on my Asrock 330HT-BD. It works right out of the box and I love it. The only thing I really want to work now is … Bluray playback.
I’ve installed MakeMKV but have always had trouble installing/configuring the Bluray script. Does this release come with MakeMKV already installed? Can somebody please point me to a guide for Bluray playback on this version?
PS/ Is dinovo edge supported for asrock 330ht?
Thank you very much for these releases – they are really amazing.
I used this release on an ION3D-152B I just got. Installed xbmc live to hard drive. Everything works that I tired – HDMI video, digital optical audio to 5.1 receiver, power on/off via remote.
Not sure what suspend is supposed to do, but as the boot up time is quick I’m not fussed with turning on and off. The ION3D is silent so leaving on is not an issue.
I am curious how one would insert a bluray and rip it to mkv however (knowing nothing about linux etc).
Cheers.
This version works perfectly on my 330HT booting from USB.
The only problem is that I cannot install it do the local disk. It says it cannot detect my cd (in dutch)? Thats pretty obvious cause I’m not using one?
Hey guys,
I’m using the Asrock ION3D-152B, which comes with a remote and the IR receiver is built in – behind a grill on the front. The remote pretty much has to be pointed directly at it, and from directly in front of it.
I want to get an external USB IR receiver to plug in to improve this.
Any recommendations on what will work with xmbcfreak nuvoton just be plugging in (I don’t know anything about linux).
Cheers
Hello,
I have an AsRock ION 330 HT and I have three questions about this live cd, that I hope someone can answer
A: Has someon managed to get a WIFI wireless connection? How should I configure it?
B: When installed and running from USB Stick. Is it best to use a persistent live CD (created using Ubuntu USB Creator) or should I install XBMC live directly to the USB stick.
C: Is the resolution of 1920×1080@60hz working immediately? Or should I configure something
Looking forward to a reaction
C:
Sound output through analog interface does not work in this release. It is very low volume / cracks. XBMC 10.0 Live does not have this problem.
@ # 37
You can get a Wifi Connection if you install the wifi GUI add-on. Instructions: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=82099&page=3
I just bought the Hauppauge Media Center Remote Control Kit. The remote works when pointing at the (terrible) IR receiver that is inside the front grill of the Asrock ION3D. I want to use the USB Ir receiver however instead. What can I do to enable this or do I have use use the msremote download of xbmcfreak.
I install the xbmcfreak version (on a usb memory not directly in the hard disk just to test) and when I boot from the usb memory I get the following
ALERT ! /dev/mapper/XBMCLive-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
Busy Box v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu11) built-in shell (ash)
and (initramfs) as prompt
Ok, everything working
It seems to be a problem booting with the usb memory. At least in my unit, it does not boot, like a normal HD
hi,
@felizyconten : i’ve got the same alert message booting from my hard disk with an lvm install (/boot in a first partition, and / under lvm management). no devices under /dev/mapper/…
Anyone, any idea ? is there a lack of lvm support with the grub installed by default ?
any help appreciated.
Thx
@Fjerpje
very logic: choose internal analog stereo as output. Dont ask me, it works
Is there a way to get bluetooth fully working on Nuvoton XBMC LIVE CD? I can see my device but, don’t see any commands for pairing the Keyboard.
Did you get round this problem by any chance? I have the exact same issue with the standard xbmclive. It boots ok from usb for testing, but it’s a no go when I install it to the hard drive.
@felizycontento
@Sif
I reinstalled without LVM after finding a vaguely related post on xbmc.org. The only reply was “You don’t want LVM” so I thought I’d give it another go without. It loads up fine now.
@Volker Graf
Hoi.
Hi Volker.
I’ve also got à 330HT in combination with à LG fulltime HD tv.
Same problem: no video over hdmi after the xbmc logo. Did you Find à newer version than 9.11 after this Message ?
I also want my remote to workshop out of the box.
Thnx fr tour reply.
