@Benito
cretin is your mama you stoopid , i just said it would be nice to speak an international language you stupid flamand dutch !!
can anyone tell how to get the rmeote working with the ION33HT?
I have tried a bunch of drivers that are available on the Asrock site with no success, i must be doing something wrong
@BillsGate
Thank you very much for your advice!
Yes it’s possible to make some adjustments of the overscan but the picture is still not centered as there is a wider border on the right side. I can now see all the controls on the left side though. There must be something wrong with the NVIDIA Linux driver as the mainboard is so new. It functions perfectly well with with an ordinary computer screen but not with the plasma. Has anyone else got this board (the AT5IONT-I) to function with the picture centered on a TV-screen?
There is still no solution with the sound and there is no sound over HDMI. In the settings I have Nvidia HDMI both as output device and as passthrough. XBMC seem to recognize this device but there are still no sound. I haven’t yet tried optical out as I want the sound over HDMI. Sorry for my ignorance but where do I find the “asound mixer in the console”. Where is “the console”. Do you mean the terminal? Where is it in XBMC?
To get into the console just press CRTL+F1, the type: xbmc , and again xbmc.
Then : alsamixer.
Strange that you are not able to get sound through HDMI.My system works only through HDMI, mean while I want to be able to use Optical also.
The latest builds of XBMCBuntu are suffering from black screen issues when accessing the terminal (or console, pardon my jargon
) via CTRL+Fn.
I personally like Putty better, but that’s personal.
Hi again,
Not possible to use the console or terminal. Nothing happens with ctrl+F1. Neither ctrl+alt+F1. With ctrl+alt+F2 does something happen but the terminal doesn’t open, the screen is just blinking (black screen).
I will check the video problems on another TV-screen to see if the same problem persists. Maybe try to install the latest Nvidia-drivers to see if it solves the problem. I have to revert to another version of XBMC to see if it’s possible to deal with the sound problem (or learn to use Putty). Another possibility is to buy another mainboard with an pcie x16 slot and buy a Radeon HD5450 for the video (and audio!).
Hello again!
Problem is partly solved! The video problem with the not centered picture was due to the receivers video processing. With the pc directly connected to the TV via HDMI I could get the pixelmapping to function. The picture is good and I can see most of the artifacts.
There is still no sound though and I can’t get into the console.
Regards
I have installed regular Ubuntu 10.04 to be able to adjust the sound settings and the svn XBMC from the repositories. Connection with HDMI directly to the screen with pixelmapping 1:1. I have sound from the optical out to the receiver. This is OK but I had hoped to be able to use HDMI as it had made switching between different sources more convenient but the receiver distorts the video. I have also tried Boxee but XBMC is much nicer. It’s easier to use XBMC compared to VLC but VLC functions equally well.
I now have a rather nice small HTPC with the ASUS AT5IONT-I that I have built into the Diwa case from InWin. It’s a very nice case with a 160W power supply. It has room for two hard disks (one 3,5″ and one 2,5″) and also an full format 5,5″ inch optical drive. It’s incredible how they have managed this in such a small case! The temperature is ok but I will probably put a more silent 80mm fan in it.
This is the end of my story for now! Thank you for support!
What’s the benefit unstalling this version with all its errors and glitches when my revo runs smoothly with the XBMC Live 9.11 installed to the HD?
Hi,
What are the differences between this svn version en the version released with XBMC 9.11 version (beside the fact that the XBMC version is newer).
I’ve bought a Asrock ION 330 HT-BD. What is the best aproach?
– Installing the XBMCFreak liveCD (and which of the two would be best the (newest)svn version or the “9.11″ version)?
– Installing the official XBMC LiveCD and manualy installing the necessary drivers and plugins?
Is there a “known bug” list available with the different releases?
Thanks for all the information and keep up the great work..
Does anybody have a way to get SPDIF working for multi channels on the 3610? Ideally I would like sound on both HDMI and SPDIF, but I will settle with surround sound over SPDIF for now. I can get it working, and despite getting the DTS logo on my amp only get 2 channels coming through.
Could somebody explain to a noob what’s the difference between XBMCFreak LiveCD and regular XBMC Live installation?
In the FREAK-version the playback of RAR Archives doesn’t work.
Fix for blackscreen in console from Ctrl+Alt+F1 or when exiting from XBMC :-
edit `/etc/default/grub`
change `GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep`
to `GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1024×768@16`
run `update-grub` to copy the change to the bootloader, and after a reboot your console should be visible once more.
