Hartlijk dank voor je updates! Helaas loop ik al vanaf 9.11v14 tegen hetzelfde probleem aan wanneer ik de Live CD op HDD installeer (Asrock 330HT).
Het wget commando werkt niet:
‘bash: wget: command not found’.
’sudo apt-get install wget’ geeft: ‘E:Package wget has no installation candidate’
Hierdoor kan ik de LIRC drivers niet downloaden en installeren.
Daarnaast is het bij alle 10.08 SVN updates nauwelijks mogelijk om met ctrl-alt-F2 in de command shell te komen. Het geeft een zwart scherm. (Het lijkt nu opgelost te zijn nadat ik de revovery mode gedraaid heb.)
Het typische is dat deze problemen niet optreden als ik direct vanaf de CD boot. Gaat er iets fout met de intallatie naar HDD?
Ik zou erg geholpen zijn met een oplossing! Hartelijk dank

Probeer eerst eens een sudo apt-get update en daarna een sudo apt install. Waarschijnlijk heb apt nog niet bijgewerkt.
Om makkelijk in het inlog scherm te komen hangt een beetje af van de drivers. Mijn ervaring is dat het makkelijkste is om vanaf een andere pc het beheer te doen. Dit kan je gewoon met putty. Zie het onderstaande artikel:

Has this release got librtmp compiled into it ( ie rtmp support ). As all I need now is the iPlayer plugin working and we’re happy

Bedankt voor je snelle reactie! Putty werkt perfect en het wget probleem is ook opgelost. Maar ik krijg de LIRC drivers met geen mogelijkehid aan de gang (v10.04)! Raar want dit kunsje heb ik al tig keer gedaan….de installatie verloopt ok. Maar XBMC reageert niet op de remote. IRW op de command line start niet op: ‘not found’.

Anyone know how to get the Remote for the Ion 330HT working with the 10.08 releases?
Could install it fine in the 9.11 releases, but a no go with these.
Should be in this release.
Xbmcfreak LiveCD 10.08 svn31632 . Installation run on the HDD . Nettop – ASRock ION330.
I have 3 questions :
1. Terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1..6) does not work.
2. CPU load ~ 40-100% .
3. Shutting down does not work.
What should I do?

Dunno if there’s been a mistake while compiling, but according to the XBMC system info this is XBMC Pre-10.5 r31542 (compiled : Jul 1 2010)

Sinds linux kernel update van 2.6.32-22 naar 2.6.32-23 werken de remote drivers niet meer. Wat je kan doen is de kernel downgraden naar 2.6.32-22, dan werken de drivers wel weer.

Downgraden is mogelijk. Zal je zelf moeten uninstalleren en een oude kernel weer terug zetten. Dat is alleen mogelijk wanneer je de livecd hebt geinstalleerd.

You need to visit the asrock site and dowwnload the v10 kernel linux drivers for the remote\ir reciever. You will see it in the downloads section, it is the usual .deb package. dpkg -i xxxxx.deb

Na een verse install van deze live cd zouden sabnzbdplus en alle andere programma’s toch direct te bereiken moeten zijn via een andere pc in het netwerk? Tenminste dat is wat ik mij kan herinneren van de vorige live versie die ik gebruikte. In deze versie kan ik niet met ssh komen en kan sab of alle andere dingen niet bereiken op 192.168.x.x.
Waar zou dit aan kunnen liggen?
Kan wel via fireftp er in komen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am extremely new to Linux.
I’m unable to automount more than 1 internal hard drive with this latest build (worked fine on all previous builds).
Removed nodiskmount anywhere it appeared in \boot\grub\grub.cfg and \syslinux.cfg
Mounts my IDE drive fine, but my 2 SATA drives aren’t being mounted. Am I missing something?
If I go to “System info – Storage information” I can see
/media 931.5 GiB (1TB SATA)
/media 0.1 GiB (system reserved space?)
/media 298.0 GiB (320GB SATA)
/media 232.9 GiB (250GB IDE)
/live/image 3.5 GiB (4GB USB, used for XBMCFreak boot disk)
But as you can see, all the HDDs appear to be mapped to the /media directory (unlike /media/sda, /media/sdb, etc. in previous builds), and if I navigate to that directory from the file browser, I can only view the contents of the IDE drive.

sabnzbdplus draait tegenwoordig onder https. Ik heb nog geen tijd om hier in detail naar te kijken en hoe dit het beste in apache2 gemapped kan worden.
Working ok on the revo 3610 but how do i get internet acesss ?? im connected via ethernet and have wireless enable ok when using win7 but when i boot to xbmc live freak from sd card no net access

Bij mij werkt de remote na het overzetten van de oude configuratie bestanden wel…
Je kan altijd inloggen in de textmode en vervolgens “sudo mode2 -r -d /dev/lirc0″ doen dan weet je of de codes die door je remote worden ontvangen ook in codes worden omgezet door lirc…
meestal zie je 4 maal hetzelfde voorbij vliegen….als dat zo is weet je dat er enkel een configuartie probleem is….
sudo /etc/init.d/lirc stop stopt de lirc en je kan hem ook starten met start ipv stop…
irw laat je reeds een vertaling zien een iets leesbaarder code ook nog gedaan door lirc deze koudes kan je gebruiken in xbmc …

the video addon menu is empty except for ‘getmore’. when i click ‘get more’ in the video add-ons menu nothing happens? is this normal?

Guys, how to get with this release sound over HDMI and sound card in the same time? (on ZOTAC ION ITX 330 mainboard).
I was able to do this on v11 but for now on amplifier I´m not getting anything, only via TV over HDMI.

I’m having the same problem with the automount, it’s not finding all of my hard drives…..even after removing the “nodiskmount” text in \boot\grub\grub.cfg and \syslinux.cfg….any fixes for that yet???? please…help!!!!
Installed the image on an USB drive and tried to boot from acer revo. But there no posibility to start xbmc just to install on the hard drive. But I want to test first the image

The audio isn’t working on the last 3 (at least) releases on motherbards with Intel HDA audio, tried on a Intel D915 board and Intel DQ45
aplay -vv ………
errors with;
aplay: main:654 audio open error: No such file or directory
etc.
alsa-mixer everything looks ok and the ‘beep’ works when unmuted.

Have a ASUS AT3N7A-1 motherboard. Downloaded the ISO and burnt to CD. The Installer is unable to detect the LAN card on the motherboard so I’m unable to connect to my home network..
Appreciate your help in helping fix this issue..

ok the problem is in the asound.conf, if this is deleted and xbmc exit’d (so it auto restarts) then the sound starts working again. please fix!
[also if anyone else uses Intel audio, at least on most boards, I suggest removing 'setvolume' from the kernel line as it sets all the mic inputs to 100% and there is more hiss than audio!]

It’s there any way to install the version of XBMC from live, into ubuntu 10.04 as a stand alone package?!
I have tried xbmc live and it’s working perfect. I have Ubuntu 10.04 installed and with the current xbmc version ( 9.11 ) is not working very well.
What I want, is to install the version from xbmc freak live, because I observe also that it has a lot of settings that the common XBMC does not.
Looking forward for some responses.

Live CD met Unetbootin naar USB gezet en voor het eerst sinds ik hem heb zonder problemen command line verbinding kunnen maken met de wireless.
Installeren vanaf USB is alleen niet altijd goed gegaan bij mij (zal wel weer een CD moeten branden ervoor).
Remote nog niet geprobeerd.

nou, na installatie werkt de terminal niet meer (ctr + alt f1..6) en op de revo werkt ook de netwerk kaart niet dus PuTTy kan ook niet.
Iemand al een tip om de terminal aan de praat te krijgen?
Nou op de Asrock 330HT werkt deze Live versie voor geen meter
Remote doet het niet, VPAU/hardwareacceleratie werkt niet goed (schokkende beelden, zelfs met SD media), kan niet in de Terminal komen. Ik ga maar gewoon Ubuntu installeren, laatste Nvidia drivers installeren, Asrock Licr driver installeren en de laatste SVN naar binnen halen, dan heb ik een stabieler en beter werkend systeem. Toch jammer dat er geen out of the box werkend systeem is voor de Asrock 330HT. Het blijft een hoop gepruts en geconfigureer op de terminal voor dat het systeem een beetje loopt.
Ga je dan een desktop ubuntu of een minimum install gebruiken?
I have re-install the live cd and it seems that it has same behavior, the terminal wont start. I would like to manage my wireless connection (to get it working), and some firewall stuff; that’s why I want the terminal running.
I’m using an Asus At3ion-t motherboard.
I’m hopping that I’ll receive some updates on this.

It’s obvious that the remote on the asrock 330 ht doesn’t work, because lucid has a higher kernel. Lirc is awaiting an update for it, as soon as it is 0.86 I’d expect it to work on lucid too. downgrading kernel doesn’t make sense to solve this, this would decrease the boottime considerable, the speedup in lucid-boots is mainly a recent kernel thing.
Could somebody try building the cvs version on this lucid install? How to can be found here (I’ve tried several times recently and got sick of it, have a stable on karmic now) http://www.lirc.org/cvs.html
Ik heb denk ik geluk want op mijn systeem werkt de remote prima! Na de installatie van de LiveCD de drivers van de Asrock site geinstalleerd en werkt als een trein.
Maybe i’m lucky, after installing the LiveCD i updated the drivers from the ASrock site and everything works like a charm.
Heb sinds kort Ion330HT. Gooi net deze Xbmcfreak LiveCD 10.08 svn31632 erin. Werkt prima. Geluid via HDMI en HD files alleen remote werkt niet.
Werkt alleen als ik een externe USB IR receiver aansluit (van mn andere MCE remote). Is er op korte termijn een nieuwe live cd te verwachten met wel out of the box support hiervoor?

(met autologon, en autostart xbmc is het effect het zelfde)
Ik was er gisteren wel een avondje zoet mee om alles te configreren en tunen, maar nu draait alles als een zonnetje
(incl asrock remote, geen terminal probleem,en geen schokkende videos)
voor diegene waarbij de asrock remote het niet doet, dit was voor mij de oplossing:
(oplossing gevondenop inet)
1) uninstall lirc-modules-source (if installed)
make sure that /etc/lirc/lircd.conf contains something like:
2) install lirc-nct677x-1.0.4-ubuntu9.10.deb (it patches /usr/share/lirc/lirc.hwdb and adds remote definition)
3) rm /lib/modules/2.6.32-21-generic/kernel/ubuntu/lirc/lirc_wb677/lirc_wb677.ko (installed in 2) )
4) force install (dpkg –force-depends) lirc-nct677x-src-1.0.4-ubuntu9.10.deb
5) dkms add -m lirc-nct677x-src -v 1.0.4-ubuntu9.10
6) dkms build -m lirc-nct677x-src -v 1.0.4-ubuntu9.10
7) rmmod lirc_dev; modprobe lirc_wb677
include “/usr/share/lirc/remotes/lirc_wb677/lircd.conf.wb677″
