Here’s the new XBMCFreak livecd. Big changes: The xbmcfreak livecd is packaged with beta3 and XBMC Remote PHP is included. The Nvidia 260.19.12 Linux drivers are also new.
XBMC Remote PHP isn’t enabled by default. To enable go to system settings, network, and enable the option “enable control of XBMC via HTTP”. After you’ve enabled this setting navigate to http://ip-adres/xbmc-php-remote/ to open XBMC Remote.

Running live or installed?
Better then the last one. no high pitch noise. But have errors while booting. keeps loading nothing happening. somthing about cpu looping. I run it from usb stick.
no longer xbmc screen comes up on my TV via HDMI, but when I connect the VGA monitor is fine. looks like xorg.conf brokern.

Heeft iemand al blu-ray aan de praat gekregen via de script van Magnetism? Ik heb de script geinstalleerd, maar zodra ik op play klik, dan staat XBMC vast om mijn 330HT-BD. Ik heb niets geinstalleerd m.b.t. MakeMKV of is dit het probleem?
ik heb zojuist voor het eerst de 3e BETA LIVE geprobeerd, maar ik zie de harde schijf in mijn ION330HT niet terug in LIVE. ik zie wel de externe USB disk. Op mijn harde schijf staat W7 met XBMC9, kan LIVE eventueel de shares benaderen?

Heb je wel MakeMKV opnieuw geïnstalleerd? De meegeleverde versie is verouderd en start niet meer op. (staat in één van je logjes)
Je zal dus even naar de MakeMKV site moeten gaan, en die compileren.

Ik had verwacht dat in deze recente versie van XBMCfreak de laatste ‘permanent’ werkende versie van MakeMKV zou zitten, dus vandaar dat ik hier niets mee gedaan heb.
De dummieproef link lijkt me inderdaad eenvoudig, maar heeft deze versie niet een licentiecode nodig om het werkend te krijgen?
En als ik het goed begrijp moet je dan betalen om blu ray werkend te krijgen. Klop dit?
Inmiddels naar versie 1.6.2 van MakeMKV en ik kan nu blu-ray disks afspelen. Ik heb geen app_Key (licentiesleutel) in settings.conf geplaatst, omdat het gewoon zonder deze sleutel werkt. Weet iemand hoe lang ik van blu-ray kan genieten?
Sound over HDMI works after unmuting as described above, but I have no system sounds when navigating.
Any idea on how to enable these?
Also, wake on USB does not work after install.
Acer Revo installed to HDD.
And finally, I cannot FTP into the Revo now, so cannot make any changes…?!

Ik had ergens op de MakeMKV site gelezen: “Up to November”. Ik weet niet of dat tot of tot en met betekend in dit geval. Maar zolang hij in Beta blijft zou hij gratis blijven. Dus ik vermoed dat er binnen niet al te lange tijd een nieuwe key uit komt.

Ik vond trouwens ook nog in m’n Samba-logje een hele zwik foutmeldingen:

In de /etc/samba/smb.conf staat:
guest account = xbmc
Als je als primaire account iets anders aanmaakt krijg je dus bovenstaande meldingen. Misschien is dat aan te passen tijdens de installatie?

Ik had ook een sleutel gevonden die tot nov 2010 geldig was, maar ik heb er helemaal geen sleutel in gezet. En volgens mij is versie 1.6.2 van MakeMKV geen beta.

Oh, dan zal ik me wel vergissen over die Beta. Hij staat in elk geval nog als Beta in het forum, maar voor hetzelfde geld is dat dan een vergissing….
I love your images, and I have been running a previous version smoothly. Updated to this recently, but now I can’t seem to get my wiimote up and running again. I want to install some packages, but get the following:

I was worried that the support had been discontinued, but upon installing ubuntu 10.10 I got the packages, so they are still there;) This worked on a 904-version of your liveCD.
Now, i COULD do the normal installation onto full ubuntu, but your CD’s and the work you have done is just so much better and more responsive, so I’d prefer to keep using your images. Also the wiimote I find handy (have ordered MCE just in case now). Any tips, or known reason why I don’t get these packages installed?

Om te beginnen heel veel respect voor al het werk en het geduld om veel mensen van antwoord te voorzien. Ik ben nieuw, geen ervaring met linux (wel met W) en ben me erin aan het verdiepen. Wil XBMC op mijn nieuwe AsRock 330HT installeren. De LiveCD 1000 Beta2 T3 werkte direct. Ik zag de mogelijkheid van Remote over Http in Beta3 dus gedownload. Geprobeerd deze te installeren op HD (schijf volledig benutten, alles overschrijven), maar hij liep vast bij “installeren”. Komt in het menu en ik kom niet verder. Ik heb vervolgens Ubuntu van een cd gestart, alle partities verwijderd, voor de zekerheid nog “suso apt-get remove dmraid” gedaan in een terminal. Niets helpt!!!
Wat doe ik fout????
