    @Felix

    Thank you, Felix!

One of the remotes I have is precisely that SKU 34435 from DX, and that was completely unusable with XBMC (the other one, SKU 27596 more or less works, although far from optimum). I will try that instructions soon.

  2. meauses says:

Tried XBMCbuntu 2.6 this evening and on my Asrock ION330 it works quite proper from USB stick (wanted to wait with installing until newer versions come out). It did not see certain files on my share strangely enough, but its quite smooth and the looks have improved from the previous versions.

Can I get some help with the audio
    This is my setup
    I have a asrock 330ht (xbmc windy 26)
A tv pluged in by hdmi
A denon 2805 pluged in by optical lead to asrock
How can I get 5.1 out to the amp and normal audio to the tv ?

  4. Scope says:

@gavin robinson: I spent weeks working out how to do this on my Revo 3610, but I’d imagine it works for you as well. I have the same setup as you and I now have stereo (all channels) on the TV and 5.1 on the amp – all at the same time. :)

Give me your email address and I will email you the file (rather than flooding the thread with the it).

  5. Jelle says:

@Scope: I am also intrested in your audio config. Could you post somewhere your config file?

Cane anybody tell me how to update the ION Driver for my Revo?

  8. Scope says:

    Gavin, Jelle,

Here’s the asoundrc file I use on my Revo 3610 to get audio from both TV (HDMI, stereu) and Amp (Optical, 5.1):

    https://rapidshare.com/files/3368712425/.asoundrc

    I use the following settings:
Audio Output: Analog (Have a play with this, different audio formats work slightly different)
    Speaker Configuration: 2.0
    Audio Output Device: Customer
Custom audio Device: alsa:xbmc (this is set up in the asoundrc file)

Hopefully this works for you guys as well.. I spent ages last time around getting this to work, but luckily it worked when I copied across the new version of XBMC.

  9. gavin robinson says:

    Scope
Thanks for your help I give that a go when I get in later

  10. Scope says:

Sorry, I just had to post another post, as it should be post 10.000 on the site. :-)

  11. Scope says:

Damn, you beat me to it Gavin. :-D

  12. gavin robinson says:

    Scope
I’m sorry if this is a silly thing to ask but were do I dump the
    Asoundrc file to

  13. spoelly says:

    Asrock ION 330 HT
    4 gb geheugen
    120 gb SSD

  14. Erik says:

Nice work, but the remote for the 330 ion didn’t work out of the box, but everything else did. (just mentioning, might already been said in here)

  15. ICA says:

It’s very good. But fix NFS, and this will be near excellent.

  16. Scope says:

Gavin: the .asoundrc file goes in the home catalog where xbmc is install, for me /home/xbmc.

  17. chazza says:

I tried v26 on my Giada N20 ION2, with display via HDMI to TV. Still no sound via HDMI. When I tried changing various audio proferences in XBMC, the UI seemed to lock up.

I’ll dig further, and see if the posted asound config file helps.

It’s not clear where I should be posting feedback. Is there a forum or bug tracker?

  18. Mitch says:

    @chazza

Maybe you can paste the contents of :

    lspci -nn | grep Audio
    aplay -l
    cat /home/xbmc/.asoundrc

Maybe Piethein can take look at those result

  19. eric says:

    @ICA:

what problems do you have with NFS? I’m using it for movies/music and use path substitution for the thumbnail images. I’ve never experienced problems when using autofs and NFS.

Are you using a specific nfs version or mount options?

  20. chazza says:

    > Maybe you can paste the contents of :

I will, just as soon as I can login. xbmc/xbmc doesn’t seem to work for ssh access to XBMCbuntu live.

I’ve tried quite a few distros on this hardware, with various tips garnered from around the net. I believe I had HDMI sound working with linux mint 10 and xbmc, but can’t replicate that setup now. One complication is that my TV seems to have developed corrupted EDID data. My other TV doesn’t have that problem however, and HDMI sound isn’t working there either.

I’ve just found another post concerning XBMClive and this hardware:

    http://haltcondition.net/?p=2455

I will try that suggestion too as soon as I have a chance.

    @Piethein: you wrote the following:

“We revealed the issue with the “ERROR: Unable to open audio mixer” on many of the systems. It’s a bug in XBMC beta1. Due to the missing .asoundrc file XBMC won’t start. It will be fixed in the next XBMC beta version, probably beta 2. If you own a Nvidia ION or AMD Fusion e350 system, you’re lucky enough. If not, you’ll have to wait for beta 2.”

Im running an Nvidia ION system (Revo 3610), but I still get the problem:

    16:30:10 T:6834720 NOTICE: load settings…
16:30:10 T:6834720 ERROR: Unable to load libcrystalhd.so.3, reason: libcrystal

Followed by lots of lines, before:
17:53:35 T:6834720 ERROR: Unable to open audio mixer

I dont really want to reinstall using the latest build (scared of loosing the audio system I’ve got running), are you able to share a fix I can do on my system as it is?

  24. AJ1000 says:

I have been having problems with this build in terms of cpu usage … once movies and tv shows menus are setup and you go into the movies menu, the cpu goes to 100%. Using top, I see that xbmc.bin is using 173% CPU. How do I investigate this?

This happens in confluence and MQ3 Aeon. So back to version 20 again.

I noticed before setting up the movies and tv shows menus are setup, using file manager, the movies and show play using very small amount of cpu. I also tried setting vsync to ‘always enabled’, but this did not make any difference.

  25. Eric says:

On this release, XBMC will crash anytime I press the pause hotkey on the keyboard or the space bar. Pause only works when I bring up the OSD and select the Pause icon.

    Using an Asus AT3ION-T

  26. AJ1000 says:

The pause issue is fixed in version 27, with a newer version of xbmc.
