Here’s a new XBMCbuntu preview packaged with XBMC 11 beta 1. Here’s the list with changes:

Wat voor een type systeem heb je trouwens?
Als ik niets veranderd dan blijf de /home/xbmc/.asoundrc het zelfde als mijn vorige post. Mijn systeem is een zelf gebouwde htpc met een nvidia GT 430 video kaart
Ok. Ik heb de fout inmiddels achterhaald. Bij sommige systemen wordt een verkeerd asoundrc bestand aangemaakt, waardoor XBMC niet kan starten. Ik zal het oplossen in een volgende release en hoor graag of het dan is opgelost.

Daarin valt me het volgende op

Er staan nog wel meer ERROR in maar die zijn geloof ik niet belangrijk
Komt dit nu door het installeren van samba en SABnzbdPlus of moet ik iets aanpassen of doe iets fout ?

Sabnzbd draait op dezelfde poort als Airplay. Misschien dat dit de reden is dat er wat mis gaat?

SABnzbdPlus draait nu op poort 9092 dit heeft de ERROR: JSONRPC Server: Failed to bind serversocket opgelost.
De ERROR: JSONRPC Server: Failed to connect to sdpd is nog steeds aanwezig
Het is wel zo dat het xbmc_crashlog alleen verschijnt als ik via putty een reboot cmd geef. Met de afstandbediening een reboot cmd geeft geen xbmc_crashlog
Cant get AAC 5.1 to work well. Gets down mixed n stead of multi channel pcm. Asus E35-M1-Deluxe. Tried several, if not all, audio configurations.

I get sporadic freezes on video forcing restart via ssh. Unencrypted Bluray ISO files do not load from network attached storage. kernel log is full of messages about my imon remote. Tried dpkg-reconfigure lirc a few times. Copied the imon config file to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf but no luck.
Also for whatever reason bluetooth is a bugger. In the past I exited xbmc, started fluxbox and installed blueman to associate my apple BT keyboard. 4 hours last night was spent trying to get the keyboard to take. ssh -X from a mac running x11 to get blueman over ssh as well as locally on the media center. No luck. I know the bluetooth chip on this board is tricky. Has anyone else had issues with BT on this board?
heb deze versie geinstalleerd op mijn HD (heb een Asus E35M1-I Deluxe moederbord)
en alles doet het goed hij is nu bezig om al mijn films en series te laden en heb net een 1080 film geprobeerd en die doet het gewoon goed zonder te stotteren ofzo.
het enigste probleem wat ik heb is dat het beeld oppeens hele rare kleuren gaat geven (zit via HDMI aan mijn tv vast) ik weet dat het een bekend probleem bij ATI en ik weet ook hoe ik het op moet lossen als ik bij de catalyst control center kon komen dan moet je daar een instelling wijzigen en dan komt het niet meer voor maar dat kan hier natuurlijk niet is er een andere manier om dit te veranderen.
weet niet meer procies hoe het heette wat je moest veranderen(als ik het zie weet ik het weer) maar volgens mij had het iets met RGB ofzo te maken dat je daar iets moest veranderen

Via XBMCFreak I have been trying to trouble shoot the new XBMC Live Eden.
All is working brilliantly apart from NFS. I have set up NFS on my SYNOLOGY correctly and it is working perfectly on my two APPLE TV 2’s, which are also running XBMC EDEN.
I have tried the following settings, with help from other users to no avail.
My two folders that I would like to access via NFS are:
nfs://192.168.0.6/volume2/Films 1
nfs://192.168.0.6/volume2/TV
Settings Attempted
1. sudo apt-get install nfs-common
2. sudo mkdir /mnt/TV
3. sudo mkdir /mnt/Films1
4. sudo mount -t nfs 192.168.0.6:/volume2/TV /mnt/TV
5. sudo mount -t nfs “192.168.0.6:/volume2/Films 1″ /mnt/Films1
6. Add this line to /etc/fstab:
7. 192.168.0.111:/volume1/video/Movies /home/xbmc/Videos nfs defaults 0 0
8. Mount with the following command: sudo mount -a
Please help if you can.

Als ik XBMCBuntu wil testen op een USB drive met unetbootin en er komt een nieuwe release uit, kan ik dan gewoon het live-rw bestand kopieren en men dotXBMC folder of moet ik elke keer de volledige stick opnieuw aanmaken, alles herinstalleren, …

Als ik probeer dvd iso’s of video_ts’s af te spelen werkt het menu bij mij ook niet (Asrock ION 3D 152D) dus het ligt waarschijnlijk niet alleen aan jou. De rest werkt wel naar behoren

Ik heb het zo net nog geprobeerd met originele dvd en die speelt hij ook niet af(Asrock ION 3D 152D).
Zoals Piethein al aan gaf zou het best het volgende probleem kunnen zijn, wat ze gaan oplossen beta 2

Can somebody please answer the following questions for me:
1) Once I have pressed CTRL+ALT+F2 to go to command line, how do I restart XBMC without rebooting?
2) My USB stick does not have a .asoundrc file, and I would like to copy the one I am currently using on to the stick to see if I can get dual sound, however when I reboot the file I have copied across is gone.. So question 2, how do I make changes that remain after a reboot? Its like it resets itself.. The same goes for video sources.. If I add any they are gone the next time I reboot.
I am not quite ready to install the version on the USB as I need dual sound like I have on my Ubuntu install.
Hey, ik heb het probleem dat bij de install de letters zo klein zijn dat ik ze niet kan lezen. Geen idee welke window manager het is (xfc?) maar het lijkt te maken te hebben met mijn HD TV? Op deze manier kan ik niets doen, er is immers volgens mij geen cli install. Is er een manier om de fonts groter te maken, een keyboard shortcut oid?
Bij gebruik van de live versie crashed xbmc bij het opstarten met het “ERROR: Unable to open audio mixer” probleem. Dit is een bekende bug die met de laatste xbmc update gefixed zou moeten zijn.
i had the same thing with my sony tv. in the end i just hooked up a tft for the installation… would be nice to know if there is a fix for this. thx

Me too, @ 1080 & 720 my 32″ Toshiba HDTV displays at a very high resolution, causing text to become unreadable & therefore I cannot install. Same issue happened when I ran a get-upgrade on Dharma previously. Fixed that by installing alternate Nvidia drivers, had to activate the Ubuntu superuser, don’t know how to do that on a live CD though.
Happens on both Acer Revo 3610 (Nvidia Ion) / eMachine ER1402 (Athlon II Neo K125 1.7GHz, Nvidia 9200 GFX)

Should have said the text is unreadable when trying to install XBMClive to the HDD.
If I choose to boot the liveCD XBMC starts perfectly.

If you have ssh on your computer you can ssh in to the box to restart xbmc without rebooting. If you had a keyboard attached this will also work. “ssh xbmc@192.168.x.xxx” provided xbmc is your user account. Putty for windows will work (putty.org)or if on a mac its already there in the terminal. Password prompt will appear. I think the pass is “xbmc” on live but dont quote me. Once logged in type “top” to see the running processes. XBMC should be near the top. “sudo pkill xbmc.bin” will kill it. “xbmc-standalone” will start it back up.
With a keyboard, press ctl+alt+f2 or f3 or f4. Login. Issue the kill command listed above. From memory xbmc is on tty7 so ctl+alt+f7 to get back to the correct tty (not really necessary). “xbmc-standalone” will get her back up.
I noticed recently that the latest unetbootin package for windows has an option to set a persistent memory save area on the usb stick. I have not experimented with it however I wonder if it would work for saving your asoundrc? It may require installing to the usb. Its a read only file system on the usb with xbmc-live so when you are copying it over its actually copying to a temporary memory location. Thus on reboot its gone. I would recommend the ssh route. Its a lot easier to do this stuff from a laptop on a couch. Copy it over after xbmc is on its feet and see if your asound sticks.
You can also restart alsa with these commands as you may need to inorder to get the new asoundrc loaded.
Open a terminal.
Type: “sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils stop” and press Enter.
Enter your password at the prompt.
Type: “sudo alsa force-reload” and press Enter.
Type: “sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils start” and press Enter.

One more thing. While in a terminal type “sudo alsamixer”. Take the time to look at all the cards. F6 from memory. Make sure that all of the audio outputs you want to use are toggled on. For instance, “oo” above spdif would indicate on. “mm” would indicate muted. Always good to double check alsa mixer to ensure your intended outputs are toggled on. Escape key gets you out.
@quotaholic: Thanks alot for taking the time to help.. I will try this when I get back from work. I am pretty sure alsa-utils wasnt there (I tried restarting after copying my asoundrc file), but I will try to install it.. But then there is the issue of loosing on reboot.
I just need to prove that the setup works fine before installing on top of the current ubuntu+xbmc.
