After I connected my Nvidia ION system to my Onkyo receiver I had the following problem. Turning on first the Nvidia ION machine and secondly the Onkyo receiver gave me a black screen. I found the following solution for this problem:
Open the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf and search for the “Screen” section. Add the following line of code:
Option “ConnectedMonitor” “DFP-1″
Restart the XBMC system and now you’ll notice you don’t have a black screen anymore! Example of my Screen section:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Device0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
Option "NoLogo" "True"
Option “ConnectedMonitor” “DFP-1″
Option "metamodes" "1920x1080_60 +0+0"
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Option "DynamicTwinView" "false"
Modes "1920x1080_60"
EndSubSection
EndSection
ik heb het bestand /etc/X11/xorg.conf geopent
maar zie niks in dat bestand, is leeg bij mij!?
ik heb xbmc live geistalleerd op usb drive.
Thanks! This did the trick on my system (Zotac ION ITX F).
Juiste resolutie etc. kun je realiseren door de edid lokaal op te slaan mbv nvidia-settings (“aquire edid” button). Vervolgens kan je in de xorg.conf onder section “Monitor” deze optie toevoegen:
Option “CustomEDID” “DFP-1:/path/to/edid.bin”
(Uiteraard even het juiste path invullen)
De edid informatie is nu altijd beschikbaar. Hierdoor zal x altijd in de juiste resolutie opstarten.
