Here’s a new XBMCbuntu, based on Ubuntu 12.04. The are no extra’s in this packages except the new kernels, drivers and packages.

Many thanks to Luigi Capriotti for fixing the build.

The new audio engine is in the unstable branch and isn’t good enough for testing. Once there’s any news I’ll let you know!

  4. NativeCanadian says:

    Thanks,

I am looking forward to it!

    hi

is there a link to current nightly unstable build, just want to use for testing please?

Net even getest op men AsRock ION 3D 152D, geluid over hdmi werkt niet volledig.

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

great! i’m coming from official xbmcbuntu but your is more stable, the only my problem is in the scraping.

when i scrape new movies with “universal scraper” and it find a single quote (or apostrophe) in plot or title or character that become “'”.

i can correct manually via web interface the title and the plot…but non the actor’s name.

so in my database, example, i have the actor Peter O’tool (old scaped by backuped database) and Peter O'Tool.

    any solution?

With a apt-update ill get a 404 error on some lonelycoder packages.

I put this XBMCbuntu version on a Acer Aspire L5100 mediacenter (AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 5000+ 2.6 GHz and 2 GB ram) but when I start XBMC both processors will peak between 94% – 97% usage constantly (all the time while XBMC is running) so that the performance of XBMC is very low. Do you have any suggestion? Many thanks in advance!

  13. DrErling says:

My hardware would not even install this version of XBMCbuntu… Not sure what is causing it. My htpc is a Assrock ION330HT-BD

  14. iGadget says:

@DrErling – that’s weird, I just installed it on my Asrock ION330 (non-BD) without any problems. I am only experiencing an issue with font size when not running XBMC itself, but I guess that’ll be fixed as well when I choose the special install option when booting from the image.

  15. iGadget says:

Iwvdzalm: I had a similar issue on my ION330 (with the 11.10 version of XBMCbuntu, that is) which turned out to be a setting somewhere in my home dir. When I created a new user with a ‘fresh’ home, the issue was gone when logging in as that user.

  16. Tuxo says:

Does this one also support XVBA or should I try XBMCbuntu-XVBA-v01?

  17. iGadget says:

I just b0rked my XBMCbuntu install when I ran apt-get update / apt-get dist-upgrade (like I normally do on all my Ubuntu systems). After all packages had been installed and I rebooted my ION330, XBMC would not start anymore. There seems to be an issue with the nVidia driver, but I can’t seem to pinpoint the problem. The driver has been installed and configured, but it refuses to load when the system starts up.

I have not enabled any extra repo’s or done anything beyond the default install, so potentially anyone trying this on an Asrock ION330 (and perhaps other systems as well) will be affected by this.

Any idea what I can do to fix this, save reinstalling the entire system?

  18. Louis says:

    Hai,

I installed XBMCBuntu the 12.0 frodo build on a asrock 330HT but im unable to get sound over spdif.
Does someone has a example for me howto set this up.

  19. Pterps says:
