Nvidia released a new driver; version 295.33. Rumors are that this driver brings more stability. If you want to try this for yourself, you’ll need to install the X Updates repository. You can do this by using the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Activity within the repository of OpenElec and XBMC indicates that XBMC Eden or version 11 is almost final. More information will be available soon!

Here’s an interesting new feature, ready to merged once Eden will be final. Pull Request 780 brings TV-Out support and resolution switching for all Apple iPad’s. 1080p is supported but only for the ATV3 and iPad3. XBMC can be controlled using the swipe functionality. Here’s a live demo;

I just ordered my new AppleTV from the Apple Store. Hopefully developer Davilla will release a XBMC version with 1080p support for the AppleTV very soon! I’ll keep you posted!

Here’s another release candidate version. The setdpi option should be fixed. For large TV screens; Please use unetbootin and select the 120dpi option. Please post your findings!

RC2 has been officially released by XBMC. The fast playback issue has been fixed by RC2. We’re still working on XBMCbuntu. Keep you posted the next days.

The first release candidate has been released on the mirror of XBMC. Most notable new feature is the AV delay patch. This patch allows you to delay the video processing a slightly bit and so enables you to sync video and audio. If you want to upgrade your Linux install just type “sudo apt-get update” and “sudo apt-get upgrade“. Other downloads, see below:

The first release candidate version of XBMC is imminent . According to the commits on github the versions numbers are changed the the “pre-” will be removed. To use a Eden skin the skin version has to be set to at least 3.0. Github changes:
