Native Airplay has been merged into XBMC

Last week the Video Airplay functionality has been added to the development version of XBMC. No manual adjustments are needed at this stage to enable Airplay within XBMC. Just enable the the feature below to enable Airplay within XBMC

The current implementation of Airplay doesn’t support Audio streaming (AirTunes). This feature is however a work in progress:

    I’m working on a new livecd using Ubuntu 11.04 including XBMC Eden (and so Airplay) and the latest Nvidia ION and AMD Fusion drivers.

    Great news! Right now running the latest livecd on a couple of boxes here and connected them to the vu+duo using the tuxbox protocol. A great solution to get live (sat) tv in the attic, bedrooms and the garage.

    @Piethein: very pleased with your work! I could send pictures of the HT setup, but the main xbmc is build into an old Sony DVD player and the other devices are hidden behind the TVs (Foxconn / Joy-IT Netbox), so no funny pictures here :-)

    Although to storage has quite a high nerdiness factor: 4 NAS devices in a half-height 19″ cabinet with dual Gbit etherchannel from the garage to the rest of the house.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for this great tutorial!

    I’ve followed your steps and installed ubuntu with xmbc on my Asus M35M1-I DELUXE and the first results are good. Just played a full test movie, 15 framedrops in total.

    I’ve done a couple of earlier installs and this seams the first one that’t working for me.

    To get the Catalyst working I had to do an apt-get install -f before the driver install.

    Thanks!

    Its not working for me.

    xbmcfreak latest livecd.
    Eden nightly (apt-get upgrade from 29-08)
    iOS 4.3.4(?)

    Set the option in network prefs but my iphone doesnt see the airplay client. Are there any other things to consider?

    Whoops, my reaction was on the “Fusion” post

    That is great news! I will probably be a tester, since my FreakCD Maverick Version:2-3? has some curious issues with the skins and sometimes just restarts xbmc. So what the heck lets look what the future brings :D

    must have:
    - SMB
    - sabnzbd
    - Asrock remote support
    and the rest of the good old freak addons

    Thanks for your alltime great work!

    @lowfi

    I had the same. After enabling airplay in xbmc it didn’t show up on my IPhone. I discovered on another machine I was able to get it working that airplay in xbmc is using port 9091. It’s the default port of transmission. So one reason could be that transmission has already port 9091 taken. I deinstalled transmission because I wasn’t using it anyway. After that airplay was working.

    Would it be possible to use this app for audio:

    with xbmc?

    It requires only a DLNA device can xbmc run as dlna device?

    Zie ik iets over het hoofd? Ik heb libplist-dev geinstalleerd, daarna xbmc vanaf git gecompileerd, maar bij Systeem, Netwerk, Services heb ik geen Airplay die ik aan kan zetten.

    Waar kan ik een versie voor Windows vinden?
    Heb de laatste Eden nightly gedownload maar daar zit het niet in (via xbmc.org oa)

  14. waste says:

    @Matthijs

    where do you find this programm: transmission? because I didn’t find it, and my airplay doesn)t work :(
