At the very last moment the developers from XBMC.org decided to pull of the hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh script. With this release I try to fix the issues with Alsa. Also new drivers and a better kernel are included. This should fix the remote awake issues.
Fixed/Added:
- Nvidia 260.19.04 drivers
- Kernel 2.6.32-25-generic
- Alsa audio should be fixed in this release

To unmute hdmi audio run:

On Nvidia ION systems: To configure the system for both hdmi and sp/dif digital output use the following settings:

Heb nu de eerste BETA 2 draaien, geen problemen tot nu toe op een Zotac ZBOX-ID11, alleen wil ik nu de laatste Beta2 installeren, is er een mogelijkheid om een upgrade te doen, zo dat ik niet alles op nieuwe hoef in te stellen, heb namelijk een LIVE installatie naar HDD gedaan.
Heb Digital en HDMI als audio draaien. Tot nu toe draait het goed……
This release unfortunately doesnt work. Gets to login prompt. You can type in u/p as “xbmc” and you end up in the shell.
God I miss the xbox. It just worked, always has. In contrast I’ve been trying to get xbmc working on acer revo for last month, and if it’s not a kernal update breaking something, it’s a sound output issue or it’s another absurd random problem requring hours of research and typing in obscene shell commands.
Sheesh I’m begging to have doubts that a seamless experience can ever be reproduced on a PC. Even these “canned” live releases are no help and I wonder if the installer will ever work off a usb drive without needing to buy a cdrom drive. Where is the xbox360 version gurus?!?!!!
@Muzza: I understand your frustration but never the less PietHein spends a lot of his precious spare time in making these live distrubutions. Credit for his efforts is allways less than should be given to him, I really am thankful for his work.
Hang on in there, use the forum for your own and others to learn and finally you’ll get there!
@ Muzza: I’m running on a Zotac IDII and experience the same problem. Hope PietHein releases Beta 2.1 to solve this.
@ MWerts: Beta 2 does not run from an USB-installed stick. Do not know if it will run when installed on HD but I wait for other messages in this Forum.

Have Zotac ID11, using this beta. Install with unetbootin-windows-471 (I know its not recomended) and have same problem. What helps is delete scripts from Hooks dir (only hwSetup_NVIDIA.sh and setupSources.sh left). XBMC then starts. I get bad 5.1 sound from spdif (only 2.0 is good). I will try to make changes from hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh by hand if it helps. Same problem was with first Beta 2 but release xbmcfreak-10.00-svn33324 started. I am only Windows user trying to get XBMC 10 running on Zotac ION2.

Na het opstarten vabaf cd met optie xbmc live krijg (eerst grafisch xbmc opstart logo) ik een inlogprompt. Verder gebeurt er niks. Heb ingelogd en toen xbmc startbgedaan maar dan volgt foutmelding over X.

Hi, as I wrote I dont know how set sound in XBMC menu to HDMI working. I prefer optical out. I should write spdif sound is working – my mistake, settings seems ok (checked against the script) but I dont know how to set sound in XBMC menu to get HDMI sound
I hope only right setting in sound menu is needed. I am maybe optimist

Allereerst: installatie Beta2 loopt goed, systeem start mooi op etc.
Alleen weer sound via de HDMI, niet via analoog (optical kan ik niet checken) op een ASROCK ION 330 BT.
Ik weet het niet meer.
Ik wil audio zowel over HDMI als via analoog, daarom heb ik ingesteld:
Audio output: Analog speaker config 2.0 Audio output device default
En ik krijg alle geluid alleen maar via HDMI.

Vanaf CD (eigenlijk DVD) heb de ISO gebrand en daarvan opgestart (draai jou 9.11 versie op de HD) heb via startx en dan kiezen voor xbmc heb wel opgestart gekregen maar hij is enorm traag met reageren als ik via toetsenbord door de menu’s probeer te gaan.
Remote werkt nog niet out of the box of heb je de drivers van asrock niet toegevoegd?
Is btw een ION1 systeem, http://www.asrock.com/nettop/overview.asp?Model=ION%20330HT-BD.

Voorlopige 1e bevindingen:
Helaas, deze release biedt weinig soulaas(voor niet ION systemen denk ik).
Moet .asoundrc gewoon verwijderen en mij “oude” /etc/asound.cnf gebruiken om uberhaupt geluid te verkrijgen. HDMI wordt standaard gemute en “amixer -c 1 sset ‘IEC958′ unmute”, unmute alleen het 1e (van de 4) S/PDIF kanaal van mijn Geforce 210. Het 2e kanaal wordt echter gebruikt om af te spelen en dien ik dus (bij elke koude start handmatig te unmuten)
Remote (MCE) kan nog steeds niet het sysyteem uit zijn slaap halen (zou een kernel bug zijn)
Afsluiten/herstarten/slapen werkt nog steeds heel onbetrouwbaar. Zij er meer mensen die dit ervaren?
Soms sluit/slaapt/reboot XBMC heel snel en correct (vanuit het afluitmenu) en andere keren keert XBMC na een gekozen optie en na een zwart schrem gewoon weer terug in het startscherm.
Verbeteringen/veranderingen in XBMC zelf niet eens kunnen testen. Eerst het onderliggende OS in combinatie met diverse devices maar eens goed kunnen krijgen.
En het werkte allemaal zo goed in de oude versie
Why are you using beta versions if you don’t like to solve problems you can normally expect with beta-versions ??
Maybe you should wait for a stable version…

freezing with zotac ion itx
has anyone noticed any freezing on playback? i installed the package and it installed find, hdmi audio, xbox 360 controller (had issues with xboxdrv not working, still trying to resolve this) but i tried watching a movie and it played but it would freeze every 10 minutes or so for a few seconds then continue to play. when it was frozen i was unable to bring up any menus.
anyone experience something like this?
