Update: Some users reported issues with Alsa. I will investigate this issues. Issues will properly also appear in the release from xbmc since we share most of the code.
Update2: To solve the problem for Alsa remove the hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh script from the Hooks directory. Will only work for USB users.

I still not able to use Optical and HMID at the same time.
Already tried every possible configuration but still no luck.
If I want to use HDMI sound (direct to TV) then I need to set tas follow:
Audio outputdevice: HDMI or Custom
Passtrough output device: HDMI
When I want to use Optical (connected to my receiver) this only works when using next input:
Audio output device: ICE985
Passtrough output device: ice958
All channels on Alsamixer are unmutted.
Also when browsing the menu, no sound is available.
Very nice, just tried this on my Asrock Ion 330.
Only one problem suspend doesn’t work nor does the old fix by adding echo USB to rclocal, anyone any ideas on how to fix this ?

Sorry meant to say resume from suspend doesn’t work with Windows media center remote and USB IR receiver.
@Dan > Read on the xbmc.org forum’s that that’s a current kernel bug. Upgrading to the latest kernel will solve the issue.
You need to use alsa:both or default with this new livecd.

Don’t expect another livecd with an older kernel. Either expect a different livecd from xbmc.org with another kernel. This version will be pretty much the same as the cd you’ll find on xbmc.org.

Does this contain Revo Audio Crossfade Fix, I have managed to get sd through hdmi, hi def through optical. but keep getting an error with music files when they switch to next song

If I am currently running an installed version of the XBMCFreak-LiveCD-10-00-beta1 on a flash drive. Can I easily upgrade to XBMCFreak Live Beta2 without having to reinstall the whole thing?
DO these commands only apply for non-Freak releases? “sudo apt-get update” &
“sudo apt-get dist-upgrade”

Hmmmmmm…… Heb nu helemaal geen geluid meer met een GF210. Met de vorige versie en aanpassingen in asound.cfg werkte alles goed. Vraag me af of de ION optimalisaties wel goed zijn voor niet ION systemen.
Daarnaast nog steeds problemen met de MCE remote zoals hierboven beschreven. Ook XBMC uitschakelen/herstarten/laten slapen (ook met toetsenbord) resulteerd nog steeds niet in de juiste actie. Na het kiezen van een afsluitoptie, zit je nadat hij enkele seconden zwart beeld geeft weer naar het startscherm te kijken.
Geluid, remote, uitzetten e.d. zijn toch wel basale items die moeten werken bij een HTPC. Werkte pre-Dharma allemaal goed.
Wat is de output van:

Thanks for that vin but none of the fixes worked for me. Going back to xbmcfreak 9.11 v14 and hopefully it will be fixed by the time Dharma goes official.
Will the remote of the asrock ION 330 HT will work with this release?
I was able to get back remote awake on the previous beta with these (http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=597319&postcount=61) commands to upgrade the kernel

Do you need to manually configure SabNZBd after install? I always get a “Service Unavailable” after using one of your live-cd’s

* On the ‘Add Video Source’ dialog, click ‘OK’
* iPlayer should now appear as a source in your list of videos
There are no addon’s with iplayer !!!

Dit is trouwens de /etc/asound.conf die werkte……..voor het verkrijgen van crossfading en systeem geluiden etc.

Heb geen idee of de instellingen in “/home/xbmc/.asoundrc” iets overrulen in “/etc/asound.conf”
And last but not least; Bij elke boot is mijn HDMI device muted en dien ik deze via alsamixer te unmuten. Een daaropvolgend “alsactl store” (0 of 1) heeft geen resultaat
ik heb overigens een cleane install gedaan…..
Update:
Door wat wordt /home/xbmc/.asoundrc gegenereerd? Als ik dit hernoem dan werkte het namelijk wel. Blijft over waarom mijn HDMI output elke restart gemute wordt
Op de livecd of onder de usb stick staat een mapje Hooks. Haal eens het hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh weg en probeer dan opnieuw.
nu wordt het script niet uitgevoerd en /home/xbmc/.asoundrc inderdaad niet aangemaakt. Na de “standaard” aanpassingen in /etc/asound.conf werkt alles weer.
Echter wel HDMI gemute……
Kan ik een regel als “/usr/bin/amixer -q -c 0 sset ‘IEC958′,0 unmute > /dev/null” ergens in rclocal gebruiken maar dan voor de HDMI? “Amixer geeft een flood aan output van het interne device maar niet van nVidia HDMI. Alles hoger dan “-c1″ resulteert in “Invalid card number”

Druk dan op F6, selecteer de Nvidia HDA
Druk daarna op M
Wat doet het systeem dan?
Keurig unmuten. Dit moest ik al doen na elke koude boot. Instellingen worden niet bewaard, ook niet met alsactl store
Net even contact gehad met een van de ontwikkelaars. Probleem zit hem in het hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh script. Deze weghalen van de USB stick zou het probleem moeten oplossen.
Mocht je XBMC livecd al geinstalleerd hebben dan zal je het .asoundrc bestand moeten weghalen, want dit wordt door het hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh script namelijk verkeerd aangemaakt.
Ik ben op dit moment een nieuwe livecd aan het maken met een paar aanpassingen. De livecd bevat ondermeer een nieuwere kernel (pre-posed repository) en nieuwere Nvidia drivers (x-swat repository). Nadat ik de livecd op twee systemen heb getest zal ik deze uitbrengen. Hopelijk lost dit een de meeste problemen op.

I tried to start the new xbmcfreak Beta2 livecd on my Asus AT5IONT-I, but it shows only errors and does not start. Installed to harddisk, but still no audio output over hdmi.
Also added
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0 probe_mask=0xffff,0xfff2
to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and restartet, tried every possible combination in the audio output settings of xbmc.
I thought this hardware would be supported and autoconfigured,
did now a windows 7 installation and i’m having Audio over HDMI out of the box. Post a comment when there is a solution to get these audio devices working in in the livecd.

Ook een clean installatie ZONDER hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh zorgt ervoor dat HDMI output wordt gemute. Het probleem is dat NA het hamdmatig unmuten, de instellingen van Alsamixer niet worden bewaard. Iets met permissies miscchien?
Vraag blijft als hwSetup_NVIDIA_HDMI.sh het niet is, wat veroorzaakt dan dat HDMI output wordt gemute?
I have a pioneer 428xa plasma screen. It seems like the display isnt properly detected by XBMC since im not able to go higher than 1360×768. How can i fix this?
