Dharma XBMC 10.00 beta2 is available for all Lucid Linux users or XBMC live users. To upgrade use your shell and type:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
I’m building a XBMCFreak livecd with Beta2 at this moment. More info will follow very soon!
Packages: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc-svn/+archive/ppa/+build/1958887
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade????
Ubuntu 10.10????
Was toch voorheen sudo apt-get update en vervolgens een sudo apt-get install???
Is er ook ergens een changelog te vinden? Wat is er anders dan beta1?
Zodra de XBMCFREAK LIVE cd er is ga ik ‘m meteen proberen….. (met een compleet nieuwe install)
can’t wait!
How can we use the shell to upgrade when we installed XBMCFreak Beta 1. I haven’t access to my system.
Fred: just do: ctrl+alt+f2 then you will have shell access.
i just fully reinstalled my xbmc system (15min ago). now upgrade went smoothly
btw. great news
@ Fred: Or use Putty from another computer in your network…
With Putty, login to and execute the commands from there
after upgrade i have no sound.
sudo alsamixer gives: mixer: no such file or directory..
for every who has problems with sound: this link fixed all http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2010/05/02/upgrade-alsa-1-0-23-on-ubuntu-lucid-lynx-10-04/
and now all works perfectly
I’m wondering how we could dist-upgrade different xbmcfreak builds as in my understanding upgrade fetches only official builds/betas so there is no point to upgrade.
