Dharma Beta 3

Last night XBMC 10.00 Beta 3 has been released. A lot of small fixed and mainly updated add-ons. Alsa has been fixed for Nvidia ION and ION2 users. I’ll release a XBMCFreak version with many extra’s very soon!

    Kreeg hem zojuist binnen via de ppa, tot zover draait ie als een zonnetje.
    Gaat nu denk ik niet lang meer duren voordat de final er is!

    It’s working really well (B3) – sound on my shuttle XS35 is simply a matter of choosing nvidia hda hdmi now and it all works a treat.

    Lots of tidy up – it’s way darker than the freak versions (or svn on maverick) though – I am thinking the new nvidia drivers do some clever stuff and send 16-235 instead of 0-255 or something.

    zojuist de beta3 geinstalleerd en ik vraag me af of er miscchien een bug is of een instelling die niet klopt, zodra ik de DXVA2 hardware versnelling activeer wordt alle HD media (mkv-VC1-ts) verkleint in de linker boven hoek weergegeven, geldt ook voor Apple Movie trailers. DVD of ander MPEG2 materiaal gaat normaal volbeeld, nadat DXVA2 is disabled is ook de HD playback volbeeld….iemand enig idee? Bij de beta2 had ik hier geen last van.(zotac HD-ID11 met HDMI op plasma Panasonic 42″)

    is there a chance to update to B3 without installing everything again and loosing lokal saved files (movies, music)???

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc-svn/ppa
    sudo apt-get clean
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install xbmc
    sudo reboot

    OK, so thank you SOOOOOO much for that. Been asking for a couple of months now. My only remaining question is how do I update when there is a new freak version.? By the commands, it seems this is updating to the new teamxbmc build.

    “For all those who have installed Live beta1/beta2, we seriously recommend reinstalling rather than upgrading. Unfortunate, but it’s the cost of running beta software. As I mentioned in the post, the upgrade breakage should be fixed for good now, meaning that a reinstall should not be necessary from here on out.”

    Me too, XBMCFreak was the reason I bought the ASRock 330HT in the first place :-O

    It will be default included from Linux kernel 2.6.37, so if Ubuntu 10.10 gets shipped with this kernel, it will straight out the box.

    Not sure which OS the lateste XMBCFREAK lives are based on but you can install the IR drivers when you install the live CD to HDD.

    Nee. Het meeste werk is klaar, alleen werk ik nog aan de php xbmc remote. Het zou mooi zijn als de livecd is opgestart dit meteen werkt.

    Reden waarom het langer duurt is dat de hele structuur van hoe extra scripten ingevoegd kunnen worden aangepast is in beta3. Een aantal van mijn scripten heb ik moeten herschrijven en aanpassen.

    Klinkt allemaal erg bekend. (ben zelf Unix beheerder bij een internationele bank.) Altijd leuk OS-upgrades… Dit vind ik zelf dan ook altijd het nadeel van distro’s als Ubuntu… Er komen zo vaak nieuwe versies uit, waar nog best wel grote verschillen in kunnen zitten. (gelukkig meestal redelijk gedocumenteerd)

    Maar goed. Dat houdt het hoofd scherp toch? ;)

    What about following the link that Piethein mentions and find out that Dharma beta 3 can be found here: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/live/xbmc-Dharma_beta3-live.iso
    I don’t understand what you means with English section. Are you talking about this website? If you are, you may have noticed that Piethein’s article is in Dutch, Piethein is Dutch, most posts are in Dutch and this website is (primarily) in Dutch. Is that maybe a clue why people are speaking Dutch here?

    Hey Impatient (nice name ;) ) The Dutch and the English item posted link back to the same set of responses. Hence the replies are in Dutch and English.

    Here’s a plan… Since it is a Dutch site (.nl) maybe learn Dutch? :D (just kidding of course)

    Above basically states, that since there are quite some differences in the last version (Beta 2) and the current, which causes that quite a lot of scripts need to be adjusted for it. Therefor it takes some time.
