Would be nice to get this on the acer revo. The new version
Piethein do you plan new boxee livecd version ?
boxee is always ahead of the rest (the device) i think the code itself is usually not availible untill later.
Although boxee is nice (i have one) i still prefer xbmc because it offers more and its much faster on a good atom powered machine then boxee is. Its sufficient alright and for a room you dont use much is a good investment. But i like my things “snappy” fastforward in a blueray is just one of the things it aint good at. But its nice, i have one in the bedroom for my gf, and since its dutch she can manage.
I’ll publish the precompiled binary for Linux. Later on I’ll integratie this into a livecd.
@Erik
It is completely understandable that the code is available first for Boxee box. After all, it’s their flagship product. Kudos to them for breaking the waters.
As I understand it, Boxee is fine tunned to social interaction, online content and such. XBMC isn’t. Not so much, at least.
@xbmcmediacenter: True, although i would expect the same snappy response as i am used to have. My old xbox shows coverart for movies quicker then boxeee. I know this is because it downloads it i believe each time or something similar, but its not fast at all. (even though i have the covers in the folder of the movie!)
But like i said, its a do-able sollution but nothing near as slick as xbmc. Xbmc you can add lots of social stuff too. More primed for overseas though.
