Ik raak het spoor een beetje bijster. Is deze Maverick versie nu ook geschikt voor de ION330HT ? Kun je misschien een lijstje posten wat anders de verschillen per versie zijn ?

windows media centre remote no longer works?

Is this the fixed Nuvoton iso you were testing a fix for in the last update? Or the generic 10.00 maverick live cd?

  4. smspvdm says:

    @Cees
    same here

  5. Daniel says:

Agree, it seems that we now have a regular XBMC Live cd, two Maverick versions (one broken), I guess without extra’s, and two Lucid versions (for different remotes). So I’m also getting a bit confused.

  6. Daniel says:

Is it just me who has the problem that the installation hangs at 85% in “Updating the list of available packages…”?

Didn’t know that xbmcfreak was this popular.

More then 150gb of bandwidth used in less then 2 days and at this moment still going strong at 2 to 3 mbit/s :-)

This does mean however that I do have to limit bandwidth, before I spike way above my allotted traffic/month.

I’m also uploading the ISO file to different file-hosting sites so you people can still get it at fast (or at least decent) speeds as well.

Please use the md5sum at http://85.158.202.192/xbmcfreak-1000-maverick-v1-bootable.iso.md5 to check the download if you don’t trust the other sites :)

If you don’t mind download from one of these sources.

I might need to limit the above url down to 1 mbit for all users (aka slow) in the coming days to make sure I do not get hit with a huge bill at the end of the month.

p.s. the above statement was megabytes per second not megabits :)

  14. KeithLM says:

This is a first for me in a long time, but I’m having remote troubles after the install. I use a standard windows MCE remote and xbmc live installs have just worked for ages. But now with this Maverick install, nothing is happening. I haven’t tried any trouble shooting yet, just thought I’d mention it.

  15. KeithLM says:

@KeithLM I’m finding some info that seems to imply that mce remotes just don’t work with Maverick? Is this true? That seems to be a pretty big problem and people should be warned. I guess I’m going to have to revert.

  16. squatingyeti says:

@KeithLM You don’t need to revert, just need to add the remote to your XBMC install. Use putty or something to ssh to your XBMC device. Then, log in with the username and password you set on install. Once there, simply type sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc

Scroll through the options of remotes and down towards the bottom should be a Windows MCE remote (all) or something like that. Use that and everything should work.

  17. Daniel says:

@KeithLM I had the same problem, explained in Dutch in this thread. I solved it by running (via SSH) the command “sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc” en then choosing something like Windows MCE remote. Then the remote worked after a reboot.

That does nothing for me. irw still picks up nothing, and xbmc doesn’t respond to the remote. I’ve found a complex set of instructions involving blacklisting modules and changing lircd to point to some event device because lirc is now part of the kernel, or something like that. But then I run across people saying it just works. It’s incredibly frustrating.
